A homogenizer is a piece of mixing equipment, either laboratory or industrial, used to create a uniform and consistent mixture (an emulsion, suspension, or solution) by breaking down particles or droplets and evenly distributing them throughout a liquid. This process is called homogenization.
The homogenizer works by subjecting the product to intense mechanical forces like high pressure, shear, impact, turbulence, and cavitation as it is forced through a very narrow opening or valve.
